The first ever community radio station broadcasting from a shopping centre opened in September 2010. Since then, Gateway 97.8FM has entertained the Basildon community with its eclectic mix of music and also provided broadcasting training to youngsters. Its studio in the Upper Galleries welcomes visits from shoppers.
